Roulette Odds & Payouts

Every roulette bet priced, across all four wheels — and why the wheel you pick is the only choice that changes the maths.

Every bet, priced

There is nothing to optimise within most roulette wheels. Every bet on a European single-zero table carries the same 2.70% house edge, whether you back one number or eighteen, because each pays exactly as if the zero were not there. French rules are the one exception, and a favourable one: la partage halves the even-money bets to 1.35%. Beyond that, what separates the bets is variance, not value — while the wheel you choose changes the number by nearly six times.

Which wheel

An online wheel runs 40–60 spins an hour.

2.70%Single zero, no refund on zero. The standard online wheel outside the US.Staking $10.00 across 50 spins puts $500.00 through the wheel, and costs $13.51 on average — whichever bets you choose, because every bet on this wheel carries the same edge.

Every bet on this wheel costs the same. A straight-up number and an even-money bet carry an identical edge, because each pays exactly as if the zeros were not there. What changes between them is variance: one number wins 2.7% of the time for 35 times your stake, red wins about half the time for one. No staking system alters the figures in this table.

The wheel is the bigger decision. The cheapest bet in roulette is a French even-money bet at 1.35%. The same stake on a triple-zero wheel costs 7.69% 5.7 times as much for identical play. If a casino offers single zero, there is no reason to sit at a double.

Roulette and bonus wagering

Roulette usually counts 20% toward a wagering requirement, and outside bets are often excluded on the grounds that covering red and black at once clears a bonus with almost no risk. Read the terms before you plan to clear anything on the wheel.
